Metalúrgica Ideal do Mondego MIM was founded in March 8th, 1979 and its activity was oriented to metallomechanic and trailer construction and commercialisation of agriculture machinery.

In the eighties, MIM widened its scope of intervention to the areas of electricity, automation, staff formation and temporary work.

Due to market evolution and emerging opportunities deriving from Portugal inclusion in the European Community, later European Union, MIM was repositioned to the category of the companies specialised in industrial maintenance and preservation services, in the medium and large heavy industry Portuguese companies segment.

This repositioning has played a decisive role in MIM evolution, oriented to a deacceleration of lower profit business in order to convert resources and to adapt its organisation to providing specialised service to cement, cellulose, paper, agglomerate and, later, glass industries.

DYNAMISM

In the last three years, MIM was able to consolidate its position next to a considerable number of well-known companies, either in Portugal or in the European Union. It has established new goals and programs to develop competences of its staff to improve its ability to adapt to the changes of internal and operational process technologies at the clients plants.

Investment made in technical means and infrastructure, technical and behavioural upgrading of MIM's staff and the special attention given to our relationship with our clients were decisive to the development and the growth of Metalúrgica Ideal do Mondego.
